It’s A WRAP!!!

Jugs of water infused with mint and lime accompanied bowls of sweet were laid out on the table while 6 WRAP Facilitators anxiously awaited the arrival of the 12 participants for their 2 days training taking place in the contemporary surroundings of Rainbow Clubhouse Town Hall.

The group were a mixed bunch of medical professionals, service users and members of the community, no one in the group had met before today, this did not prove to be a difficulty as everyone was open and willing to learn. Enthusiastic and motivated individuals created a group that dynamic that worked great in the delivery of our facilitating.

Rainbow Clubhouse recently facilitated the 2 day WRAP for the HSE South Western area.

Congratulations to all who participated!

The Lotts Get A Thumbs Up

We had a full house this month for our Employment Dinner. On the agenda for discussion were the updates on our Transitional Employment job, course opportunities in the area and CV preparation.image1[1]

Located on the corner of Lower Liffey Street in Dublin City, The Lotts offered the members and staff of Rainbow Clubhouse a very warm welcome. The spacious yet cosy interior was an ideal setting for our August Employment dinner.

So what’s on the menu? EVERYTHING! the menu was exciting and delicious and suited everyone in our group. With a choice of starters and mains or mains and dessert with a tea or coffee costing only €13.95 sure where could you go wrong. The service and second to none. The portions were very generous and they were fabulously presented.

On to the crème de la resistance, the desserts they were only to die for!

All in all we had a fabulous evening out with great food and even better company.

Rainbows Biggest Loser

Here in Rainbow clubhouse we have been working out! Our personal trainer in the Clarion Gym has started us on a healthy eating and fitness routine. This routine includes, 2 Gym  sessions per week, Tuesday is our swim and Gym day and Thursday our trainer Keith does a fitness class with us, he advised us to take a   walk every evening and we keep a personal diary of everything we eat.  We are now at week 3 of the challenge. and everyone are feeling and looking great! we have also incorporated a healthy eating option here in the centre, which on gym days may include a fresh fruit bowl dressed with mint. We are ditching white slice pan for multi grain and whole meal and upping the intake of fruit and veg. We were advised to cut down on sugary treats and fizzy drinks. Last week Ann Marie was our star loser, well done Ann Marie!!!
